Montelukast + Levocetirizinea combined therapy is prescribed for the systemic treatment of allergic reactions such as chronic urticaria, obstructive airway diseases and rhinitis. Montelukast belongs to leucotriene receptor antagonist.Montelukast + Levocetirizine Adverse Reactions / Montelukast+Levocetirizine Side Effects:
Montelukast+Levocetirizine can cause somnolence, hyperactivity in children, dry mouth, mild drowsiness and GI disturbances.
Montelukast + Levocetrizine are contraindicated in patients with an allergy to either one or both medicines, hepatic impairment, NSAID allergy Churg-Strauss syndrome.
Montelukast + Levocetrizine are contraindicated in children below six months of age.
Montelukast + Levocetrizine can cause dizziness. Do not drive vehicles or operate heavy machineries that need alertness.
Tell the doctor if your child has had any previous episode of allergy, heart-problem, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. Knowledge of your child’s entire medical history is critical for dose alterations and for planning your child’s overall treatment.
Other Medicine Interactions:
Montelukast + Levocetrizine may interact with phenytoin, CNS depressants, rifampicin, prednisone and Phenobarbital.
Do not consume alcohol while taking Montelukast + Levocetrizine.Dosage: For treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic asthma (Adults):
