Medicinal Benefits/Description: The combination of Amoxicillin and Cluvanaic Acid and Lactic Acid bacillus is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, including infections in the ears, lungs, sinus, skin, and urinary tract. Amoxicillin is in a class of medications called penicillin-like antibiotics and works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Cluvanaic acid is in a class of medications called beta-lactamese inhibitors. It works by preventing bacteria from destroying amoxicillin.

How to use Amoxicillin-Potassium clavulanate: this medication is to be taken by mouth with a meal or snacks as directed by the doctor, usually every 12 hours. This medication is not to be taken with a high-fat meal because it can decrease the absorption of the drug. For best effects, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced intervals and to help you remember, take this medication at the same time every-day. Continue to take this medication until the fully prescribed amount is completed or finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow the bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a return of the infection.

Tell the doctor if your condition worsens or persists. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to amoxicillin or clavulanic acid or to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reaction or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details. Lactic Acid bacteria is a microorganism that helps in restoring the balance of good bacteria in the gut, which may have gotten upset due to infections or antibiotic use.

Dosage: Do not miss doses if you want to gain maximum benefits. Use as told by the doctor even if you feel better. The medicine can be taken with or without food and can be taken with food if it causes an upset stomach. Chewable tablet: it can be chewed or crushed well. The crushed tablet can be mixed with food and the tablet must not be swallowed whole. Extended release tablet: it can be taken with food, or can be swallowed as a whole and must not be crushed or broken. Tablet for Suspension: mix the tablet in 2 teaspoons of water. Do not chew or swallow the tablet in whole. Also, there is a liquid suspension if you cannot swallow pills. Shake the medicine well before use. Feeding tubes may be used for this medication, however, they must be flushed before and after it is given. You can crush the tablet, melt it in water, mix it with chocolate, milk, or milk pudding.

Take a missed dose as soon as you remember, but, if it is close to the time of your missed dose, skip it and go back to the normal time. Do not take extra doses or two doses at a time. Do not stop the dose or change it, instead discuss with your doctor.
